6526 Yvonne TeVogt, 92, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial for Yvonne will be held Friday, October 13 at 11AM in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12 at David Donehower Funeral Home from 6pm-7pm with a 7pm Prayer Service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to Mass on Friday. Interment will be held in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Detroit Lakes.

Yvonne Frank Bursau was born December 14, 1924 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Oren and Laura (Frank) Bursau. She attended Holmes School in Detroit Lakes through the 11th grade and graduated in 1944 from Whitter High School in Whitter, CA. Yvonne and her identical twin sister Aevonne were both “Rosie the Riverters” during WWII working at Vultee Aircraft Assembly in Downey, CA. After WWII, Yvonne moved back to Detroit Lakes. On September 22, 1946, Yvonne was united in marriage to Clem TeVogt at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They were married for 63 years. Yvonne was a member of Christian Mothers, Homemakers Club and Legion Dancing Club for many years. Clem and Yvonne owned and operated Clem’s Marina on Little Detroit Lake for over 50 years. You would often find Yvonne selling tickets for boat rides or working as a waitress on the Aqua Belle, one of the many different excursion boats they had together. They also owned and operated other various businesses in Detroit Lakes including, Lakeside Lodge, a souvenir shop where Yvonne made homemade ice cream bars by the thousands along with Clem’s Long Bridge Mobile Home Park. In her spare time, she enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting and loved feeding and watching the birds. She also enjoyed playing cards and bridge with friends. Yvonne always looked forward to spending time at their cabin on Perch Lake, enjoying a day out fishing or simply listening to the loons. Family Christmas’s were often celebrated at the cabin along with entertaining many friends over the years. Clem and Yvonne enjoyed traveling together. They visited Japan, the Philippine Islands, Scotland, England, Holland, Germany and Switzerland and celebrated their 50th anniversary in Hawaii.

Yvonne will be remembered and missed by her three children: Linda Ditterick of Detroit Lakes, Patricia Lachowitzer of Shoreview, MN and Mark TeVogt of Omaha, NE. In addition she is survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren along with one sister: Nyo Schmoker of Phelan, CA.
